Review:

This coffee has notes of berries, fermented grapes almost wine-like as described by the roaster and a slight woodiness. It has a very strong aroma similar to how the barrel aged coffees have but more along the lines of wine. I had to confirm with the estate about the processing involved to ensure my understanding of the processing. The notes in this coffee are beyond anything I've had in the past. The winey nature of the coffee is brilliant. It has a medium body and finishes off decently well with a smoked woody aftertaste. This coffee is quite straightforward and is not heavy on complexity. I felt that it has more potential to be explored and can be pushed further. One of those coffees which you should try.

Best for: Pourovers

Worst for: Espresso

Pro tips:

Brew iced pourovers to enjoy a distinct wine-like flavour note

Use a lower brewing temperature of about 85 to 88 degrees

Final verdict: Absolutely recommended.
