Review:
The coffee has notes of berries, stone fruit and raisins. The roaster mentions blackberry, apricot, raisins and toffee as the flavour notes. I missed out on the toffee aspects but overall the coffee has a distinct fruitiness to it. The body sits perfectly with the flavours. There is a complex sweetness layered in between the berry like notes. The promise in the aroma is delivered in the coffee and the brew tastes even better as it cools down. It has an amazing sweet finish to it leaving behind a subtle aftertaste. Overall a brilliant work roasting this profile.
August Update: Just received a new batch. This roast profile seems to be improving with time and the aromatics on this one is too good to ignore. I see a ratings upgrade coming shortly on this one. While the other aspects remain the same, the complexity and aromatics of this coffee are something which I see improving.
Best for: Pourover
Worst for: French Press
Pro tips:
Make an iced pourover with a 1:8 ratio while brewing and add 50% ice to reach a 1:16 overall brew ratio. Helps highlight the fruitiness.
Final verdict: Highly recommended. Please do yourself a favour by having some quality coffee.
