Review:
This coffee has notes of oranges, peaches, apricots, berries, chocolate and almond-like finish. Gives a very bright cup via an aeropress whereas balances out pretty well via a regular pourover. The flavour profile on this coffee is very comprehensive and evolves over time. The coffee yields a medium body and a sweet nutty finish. The slight bitters compliment the overall astringency in the cup and is a great coffee to brew. Being a naturals coffee, it may be difficult to do justice to this coffee via an espresso unless well-equipped to work the pressure profile.
August update: The latest batch saw a ratings upgrade from 89 points to 91 points. The roast profile has improved a lot. Significant difference noticed is that the complexity has become much more delicate and the finish has improved. The citrus and peaches play very well with each other and the finish is smooth. It doesn't taste like a traditional coffee at all. Keep the grind size fine and brew at a ratio of 1:15. Drink between 75°C and 85°C to enjoy the best balance.
Best for: Pourover
Worst for: Espresso
Pro tips:
Go for a finer grind till the time you hit the right brightness
Use slightly hotter water to extract more sweetness in the cup
Final verdict: Highly recommended. Must have.
