Review:

This coffee has notes of berries, grapes and a slightly sweet aromatic. The roaster mentions plum jam, raspberry and blackberry as the tasting notes. This is yet another unique coffee for it has to be brewed very specifically on which the performance of the coffee powers through. I found the right balance at a higher brew temperature, a medium-fine grind size and 1:16 brew ratio. It is heavy bodied and develops a tartiness as it cools down. A challenging coffee and one of QBF's greats.

Balance: Sweet-complex acidity

Complexity: High

Best for: Pourover

Worst for: Espresso

Pro tips:

Try brewing this coffee over ice to highlight the sweets

Drink when hot to get an optimal balance

Final verdict: Highly recommended.
