Review:

This coffee has a certain richness to it. It has a woody aromatic and I could sense notes of nuts and honey with a hints of grapes. The tasting notes were in line with the aromatics and it had a raisin-like finish. This coffee also has a brilliant body and a decent structure, complex and bright. Will remind you of their standard espresso based drink. My hypothesis is that Blue Tokai had already prepared this coffee for their cafe consumption but due to the pandemic, had to route it through their online bean sales to ensure minimized spoilage. But this play seems to have worked. One of their bests this year.

Best for: Pourovers, AeroPress, Espresso

Worst for: Mokapot

Pro tips:

Brew this coffee at a slightly lower temperature say 85-88°C to extract the best balance

Try decanting the coffee to reduce temperature of brew to enjoy the fruitiness

Final verdict: Should try this coffee if you like medium roasted coffees with a rounded body
